Barbecue Sauce Recipe

Yield: Approximately 1 Quart

  • 2-1/2 cups distilled water
  • 6 table spoons corn starch
  • 12 tablespoons sugar (white or brown)
  • 1-1/2 cups of 33% ketchup
  • 4 tablespoons diced onions
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon course ground pepper
  • 1 tablespoon of sage

Preparation:

Mix all ingredients well before putting on stove with medium temperature to thicken. Be sure to continually stir the sauce, to avoid burning of the ingredients. Continue to observe until sauce is the thickness that you desire. Pull from the heat and let the sauce cool to room temperature before you place it in a container. Keep under refrigeration when not needed. Reheat to warm temperature to serve.
